== History ==

=== Freight Era ===
Acting as branch line of the [[Keio Line|Keio Freight Line]] for locomotives to access Aki Port in the early 1910s, the line would only use 1 locomotive with a few freight wagons as the need for goods transportation at Aki wasn't that big, therefore only a tank engine would be placed on the line and would run round trips every few hours due to the short length not allowing for long freight trains.

=== Passenger Era ===
With the Keio Line also being electrified in the mid-1980s, it would also be decided that this line would be electrified to allow for the coastal eastern regions of Aki to have a direct link to the city. Electrification would be completed only 6 months after construction started in June of 1984 and [[KCR EMU|trains being from the same order for the Sakuya Line]]. The line now currently uses 1 2-car set of KCR EMU and runs every half hour from each termini.
