The Yuki APM was originally planned as a smaller project of YNT, intended to provide a short break from the ongoing Cornflower Line construction. Its initial plan was straightforward — to link Sunshine Centre (SKT 214 bus stop) with Yam Lai (formerly known as Hayabusa), which currently has no interchange connections. The proposed route passed through Metropolis Station, a major interchange serving the Solitare Line, Fuka–Metropolis Rapid Transit System, Metropolis Line, Azure Line, Tohoku Shinkansen (Hayabusa, Asama), and the Southern Line.
