Draco Depot is a train depot operated by Rigel Railway located near Draco Station for the operation of the Airport Express.
History
First Iteration
During the early days of MTR 3, a route does not require a siding for trains to be operated. With the initial launch of the Rigel Line, trains are spawned in the area before Fuka (Between Ulysses Station and Fuka Station), and enters into view as a passenger train.
Due to the depot update introduced in the MTR 3.0.0 beta-7, a depot was soon settled after Draco Station, which is the terminus of the Rigel Line, named as the Draco Depot.
During the refurbishment of Draco Station to accommodate for interchange with SXR, it was determined that the location of the new station is too deep, and any track pattern leading up to the original Draco Depot would become too steep for the train to climb. Therefore, the Airport Depot has been created, situated next to the Airport Multi-Complex Depot for serving trains in the Rigel Line, and the original Draco Depot being disused, with most track-side equipment removed.
Second Iteration
Since the launch of the Rigel Airport Express, all trains are stored in the Airport Multi-Complex Depot, which is a fully-enclosed underground depot located after the Airport Station. Considering the poor condition of the depot as of 2025 with inadequate lighting, as well as the future need for Airport Express to serve beyond the original Airport Station, it was determined that keeping the current Airport Multi-Complex Depot in operation is not desirable, and thus a new depot need to be constructed in the long-run.
The original Draco Depot area used for the Rigel Line has been selected to serve as the new depot for the Airport Express, with track-side equipment being re-instantiated shortly after. The first passenger train departed from Draco Depot on 2025-08-24, marking the commencement of operation for Draco Depot.
